VeriusTM began in 1995, providing human resource services as a Professional Employer Organization.  In 1998, the Company entered a strategic relationship with a private equity firm that was managing a portfolio of service and manufacturing businesses. 

This relationship enabled Verius to combine its Human Resource services with the Finance and Accounting services of  the equity firm.  This validated the concept of a complete “back office” organization that could serve multiple businesses.

Three years later, Verius acquired the accounting staff from the private equity firm, and began providing Finance and Accounting Services to its existing Human Resource client base.  Clients and the private equity firm quickly discovered the bottom line benefits of giving Verius “ownership” of non-core, transactional finance, accounting, HR, and benefits functions.

Recognizing a significant opportunity to expand this complete back office suite of services for privately-held businesses, a handful of the private equity firm’s managers joined Verius in 2002.  Since then, Verius has expanded service offerings to include accounting/bookkeeping, and insurance services including health, life, property and casualty and affordable 401(k) plans.
